How AI Changed the Way We Run the Cincinnati Field Trip

AI has improved our processes across the board, within acquisitions, due diligence, asset management, and financial reporting. It also changed how we build the experience for the Cincinnati Field Trip.

One evening I got carried away building out the Cincinnati Field Trip website at investincincy.com. The framework took an hour. It is easy to build websites now, and that let me create a much better experience for attendees.

What the attendee experience includes

  • Pre-scheduled Slack messages throughout the trip telling attendees where to go, with background and history on the neighborhoods or speakers they are about to see.
  • A custom login on the field trip website that gives each attendee a personalized agenda, including their lodging details.
  • A feed of events that starts dropping in relevant slide decks as they occur.
  • A "bucket list" challenge where attendees cross off what they have done throughout the trip. The winner gets a prize.
  • Real Estate Table Topics made just for the event.
  • Much nicer and more interactive presentations than in years past, created in a fraction of the time.

The result

Content creation stopped being the bottleneck. That shows up in the reporting we produce and in the experience attendees get.

The trip runs October 8 to 13, 2026, with time walking units and job sites with the operators who bought them. The full agenda is on investincincy.com, and background is on the Cincinnati Field Trip page.
